Backgammon for Beginners :. Backgammon Board

Backgammon Board

The backgammon board has 24 long triangles in alternating colors called points. The board is divided into four quadrants: the player's home board and outer board and the opponent's home board and outer board. Each quadrant consists of 6 points.

The points on the backgammon board are given numbers according to their location at the player's home board. One player's 1-point is located on the far right of his home board and the opponent's 1-point is at the far left of his home board. The player's 1-point is the opponent's 24-point.

Each player has 15 checkers in different colors. At the beginning of the game, the backgammon board is set up in that manner:

Each player places 5 checkers on his 6-point

3 checkers on the 8-point

5 checkers on the 13-point

2 checkers on the 24-point

Additional Backgammon Equipment
