DDice – a pair of six-sided cubes with pips that corresponds with the numbers 1 through 6. In backgammon, the movement of the checkers is conducted by the throw of the diceDice Combination - the number of possible rolls out of 36 Dice Cup – a small container used to shake and roll the dice and to guarantee random and manipulation-free dice roll Die – the singular of dice Direct Hit - a hit using the number shown on a single die Direct Shot – the opportunity to hit a blot using a single number from one die Double – one player's offer to continue playing after multiplying the current stakes. The opponent can accept or refuse a double. Doubling Cube – a relatively large, six-sided die with the numbers 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, and 64 marked on its sides. At the start of the backgammon game, the cube is placed between the players with the 64 number faces up. After a player offers a double (i.e. multiply the current stake upon which the game is played), his opponent now owns the cube
